It's not that deep...


Oh, how I don't like to hear this phrase. Often, when people say this to me, I feel like it's a desperate attempt to soften an already high tensioned situation. If you have to tell someone this phrase, you should pause and think to yourself; what if it's actually that deep for the other party? what if the person you are about to say this to is actually invested in the very said statement you want to declare "not deep"? I believe that if you have to explain to someone that a situation is not "that deep" then maybe, just maybe it's that deep. Maybe you have offended this person and maybe you should actually say sorry. 




But what do i know?
